Engineering Clarity in Downtown Toronto

Purpose-built acoustic isolation, broadcast microphone chains, and an unhurried creative setting.

The Studio Philosophy

Too many podcasts suffer from hollow room reverberation, uneven voice levels, and distracting technical hiccups. At grirmyn, our room was built to resolve those exact pain points before the first word is uttered.

Situated in downtown Toronto, our facility blends clinical acoustic treatment with an editorial, comfortable aesthetic. We treat conversation as a craft requiring low background noise, transparent preamplification, and an attentive audio technician on every session.

Engineered for Natural Dynamics

Rather than using harsh digital noise gates after the fact, we minimize flutter echoes and external city rumble at the source through decoupled floating floor construction, heavy rockwool acoustic baffling, and calibrated room diffusion.

  • NC-25 background acoustic rating ensures pristine signal-to-noise ratio
  • Custom walnut round table configured for intuitive eye contact between 4 speakers
  • Integrated camera rigs positioned without encroaching on personal conversational space

Technical Infrastructure

  • Microphones: Shure SM7B dynamic broadcast mics with Cloudlifter CL-1 inline gain
  • Preamps & DSP: Universal Audio Apollo & high-headroom discrete interfaces
  • Headphones: Audio-Technica ATH-M50x individual closed-back monitor feeds
  • Video Cameras: Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4K rigs with Voigtlander and Sigma prime lenses
  • Connectivity: Dedicated symmetric Gigabit fibre connection for remote guests
